Protein to Disease
At the beginning, we had to choose our protein based disease and there were many well-known option such as Alzheimer's and Gaucher's diseases. We eventually chose Huntington Disease due to its power over both the mind and the body during its inhabitance. We also studied the stages of protein synthesis and protein folding, in that order.
We began by answering questions about the disease, what it was, symptoms, et cetera. We then organized the stages of protein synthesis. We kept a list of sources like Mayo Clinic and National Center for Biotechnology Information, which I partially organized.
Later, we began the poster itself, transcribing all the information on the doc in an asthetic manner. Because I could not do any of the actual poster due to its physical components, I elected to make a protein synthesis flowchart, which took me several days. However, at the end, there was no more room for the flowchart.

Reflection
While working on this project, I learned and realized many things. For example, I learned that communication is important, because everyone in a given group is still working together even if the work is divided up at the beginning. I learned this when there was no space left for my flowchart even though I had talked to one of my group members about it beforehand. I also had trouble getting the message of which sections of the poster I wanted to present across, as one of my group members had said them despite my earlier explanation and later clarification. Therefore, I need to make my communication even more explicit and memorable so that my group can understand (and remember) what I am trying to convey. However, I did enjoy doing research on Huntington’s disease and rewording my findings. I also liked learning about protein synthesis and protein folding during this project. This period was truly a learning experience and I hope to bring the lessons learned to other situations for the rest of my life.
